We have an XR18, and our vocalist and I use IEM’s. I just take an XLR from an aux port on the XR18 to a Behringer PM1. My in ear monitors are Cosmic Ears, and they simply plug in to the PM1 which attaches to my belt.

Our system allows each of us to control our own personal mix using an app, which I have on my iPad. It works very well.

Yes, EBS_freak is correct, it’s an app for the mixing desk, called XAirMonitorMix. I have an XLR cable running from an aux port on the mixing desk to the PM1.

One thing to watch for, is you have to remember you are tethered to the XLR cable. Our vocalist uses the same set up and frequently forgets to unclip the cable at the break and tries to walk away, only to get yanked back by the cable!

Ok, update as promised.  I used my Cosmic Ears CE6Bs at last nights gig, first time using them at a gig.

I use them plugged into a Behringer PM1, with an XLR cable plugged into the PM1 taken from the mixer. I also have an app on my iPad which allows me to adjust my personal monitor mix to my own requirements.

Once I figured out I needed to turn the volume up on the PM1 at the sound check, I was getting lots of lovely punchy bass in my in ears, and was able to adjust the levels of our vocalists and guitar and drums, while making sure the bass was most prominent. A real bonus is the fact I had everything at a decent volume in my ears, thus protecting my hearing. I could still hear our keyboard player telling me we were skipping a song and telling which one was next, in between songs, so even though most ambient sound is taken out, I could still hear her.

They were comfortable to wear, we played for two and a half hours with a 15 min break, and my ears felt fine throughout. Definitely recommend.

I have just got a set of these, and tried them out for the first time at rehearsal on Monday. They sounded great, nice bass sound. I had everything except the drums in the mix. Sounded nice and clear.

I’ll be gigging them for the first time on Saturday, so I’ll update to let you know how I get on.

you can scan your notes so they are pdf or word format, then import them into an app like On Song or ForScore via Dropbox.

I use On Song on my iPad, you don’t need a Wifi connection when playing, and it doesn’t use much of your iPad battery either.

I’d be all over this if it was short scale. Beautiful bass. GLWTS.

Yes, I see the guy poured silicone sealant into the truss rod to cure the rattle.

I still think it’s the tuner though. I’ll have a further look at it tomorrow, maybe take it off and tinker with it. Thanks again! 😀

If the open type a removal disassembly and a back together may improve matters, may bexwith a small washer between screw n pin?

It’s the older type where the string slots through a hole, I think the later ones had a different type. I’ve tightened all the screws on the tuner. You may be right, taking it off and reassembling might be worth a try. Thanks!

I don’t think it is, otherwise why is it only the D string? Playing notes on the D is not too bad but open string there is a really obvious rattle. The tuner feels a bit slacker than the others.

On further investigation it looks like it’s the tuning peg that is slightly loose, causing a rattle going down the neck.

Anyone know if you can buy replacement tuning pegs for the Stagg?

My D string on my Stagg eub had developed a rattle, so I decided to change the strings. I got the stock Stagg set as I can’t justify shelling out loads on fancy strings as I don’t use it that much. However, after changing the strings, the rattle still persists. It sounds like the truss rod is rattling inside the neck. I’ve managed to tighten the truss rod with a 4mm Allen key, but it doesn’t seem to be curing it. The other strings are fine, it’s just the D.

Anyone got any ideas on a fix? Thanks.

+1 for the Chowny. No experience of the Aguilar, but given how cheap the Chowny is, it would be worth a punt.

Sounds good, thanks. Like you, I would just be looking to run them sound to light at first before getting into anything more complicated. I might pull the trigger on a couple of those!

Ok, cheers. Do you find that two are enough to light up the band?

Do the ADJ's give a good white light output? I'm looking for something that will light the band up from the front or the side, as well as giving a good colour lighting display.
I was thinking of the Stairville's from Thomann, but I'm not convinced they would give a good white light output.

I'm in a similar situation as you, so would be quite interested to find out how you got on?

+1 for the Chowny Fuzzster. I did the same thing based on the Scott Whitley review, and have to say I am well impressed with it. Cheap as chips too!

I've had my Stagg for about a year now and still loving it. Other songs you could consider are Stray Cat Strut, Fever, Pencil Full Of Lead, These Boots Are Made For Walking, and Me and Mrs Jones. All sound great on EUB.
