1.
is there any way you could weigh the compact, or do you know how much it weighs already?

    - also, pleas PM me if it doesn't go to the other guy :)
I don't have any means to weight it, but Alex told me it should be right around 32lbs/14.5kgs...althought he also said that mine has a thicker finish than most so might be a bit heavier. Let's say 15kgs.

  2. I am moving out of the country and need to sell my bass rig! I do need to use it on March 26th, but after that it's yours. I'm in North London and can deliver to reasonable distances.

    Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0
You know all about this amp: small, powerful, light, loud, sounds great! I brought this over from America and it's in great condition. I've replaced the tube with a JJ ECC83S (12AX7), but I've still got the original as well. Also comes with the Genz Benz carry case and a Speakon cable. £425

    Barefaced Compact
You know all about this one, too! The is Compact #3, which was the last one built completely by Alex Claber's hands (before he outsourced to a cabinet maker). As it's one of the 1st ones, it's a bit heavier than the current ones. I've only used it at gig volume a couple of times, and the speaker's barely broken in. £325

    Both!
This amp and cab sound amazing together...loud, punchy, compact. Grab the whole rig for £700!

  3.
Was hoping to allay my Discombobulator gas only to have it fired up to truly scary proportions, and completely new and previously unknown GAS for a Deep Impact now (doh!)
You're welcome! :)

  4.
Great day guys, thanks to all who were involved in organisation.

I particularly enjoyed Jake's workshop, but Ped, Alex and Roger were great too. Also, a special thanks to Jake for his personal tips on my dodgy upright (in)abilities.

My favourite basses were Clarky's Shuker P (very nice neck) and eshears's Lakland DPLE2 (nice everything).

    See you soon.
Thanks Dave...and your Decade was definitely one of my favs...

  5.
Still coming, but in the light of the number of amps that people are bringing (and the healthy representation of the Barefaced stable) I'm wondering if I really need to bring the rig. Thoughts, anybody?

    S.P.
There will be a lot of Compacts there (including mine!), but please at least bring the the LH500...I would love to compare it vs Shuttle 6 through a Compact. I'm only bringing my Compact because I have one of the 1st ones (#3 I believe), and I have yet to turn it up past bedroom levels! :)

  7.
Very interested to hear what you have to say once you try the various combinations out.. :)
+1! I'm very interested in various Shuttle combinations as well, particularly Big One, Big Baby (with and w/o Baby Sub), 2 Midgets, Compact + Midget...

  8. Doug Wimbish's website says that Headfake is playing at Metropolis Studios in London on June 9th & 10th. The only problem is that Metropolis Studios seems to know nothing about it! I've e-mailed them and they said Wimibsh is not playing there. I've sent an e-mail to Wimbish's website as well but got no response. So, does anyone have any information on where/when he might be plaing around London?

  9.
+1!

I ordered the second-last one (I believe) of Alex's latest batch a few days ago- can't wait to get my hands on it! Those finished cabs look great with their new badges too...

I'm planning to A/B the incoming Compact at gigging volume against my recently-acquired Genz Benz NEOX-212T, using my GB Shuttle 6.0 as the test head. I'm going to borrow a friend's rehearsal studio for an evening so that I can crank both cabs up and give them a workout!

    375W into an 8ohm Neo 15" V 600W into a 4ohm Neo 2x12"- the results should be interesting! :)
I'll be very interested to hear your results!

  10. I've always used my Deep Impact with a Godlyke power supply and have never had problems. I did have a smiliar issue though with the effected sound cutting out. I had to have some broken solder joints resoldered, and it's worked fine ever since...

  11.
Hey man,
just realised you had a post on here as well as TalkBass...
Like I said on TalkBass, check out www.probag-net.com
Pretty sure they used to make the Low End bags, as they are identical, but a fair bit cheaper.
I got one, shipped from Bolvia, of all places, for $180 all in which worked out about £130 at the time.
I could not be happier with mine ;)
I can get some pics together if you want too.

They do custom bags and adjustments too, so you could be quite specific about the dimensions of a Shuttle Shaped pocket...

    Cheers,
    Eude
The Probags looks nice, but the all leather thing automatically makes me think "heavy". How's yours weight-wise?
Fender do a deluxe double gig bag. I got mine from Strings direct for about £40.
I haven't heard good things about the Fender bags...how's yours holding up? Is the outside pocket big enough for the Shuttle? Thanks for the info about Strings Direct...I'm finding all kinds of stuff on their site...
I got it from Eubassix I think.
Is yours the same as this one?

  12.
The Levy's bag I have does the trick. I can fit the Shuttle inside its gig bag inside the pocket of the Levy bag!
Where did you pick up your Levy's? The Bass Gallery told me they couldn't get them in (even though they're on their website?)
If my Incase gig bag had a vagina, I'd make love to it. It's a brilliant gig bag.
And if I had a vagina, I wouldn't spend nearly so much time on the internet looking up bass stuff...

  13. Here's what I'm looking for: a gig bag that can carry 2 basses and has room (either inside or via an ourside pocket) to carry my Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0. Also, it needs to be available in the UK. The Shuttle is so small that I thought this task would be easier...not so! Here's what I'm looking at so far:

Levy's Standard Double Electric Bass Bag (CM88)
    Rockbag 20611BPLUS Double Bass Bag
    Ibanez Double Bag Trolley E-Bass
    Access Stage 3 AB3DB11
ProTec Deluxe Double Electric Bass Bag
Mooradian (Website says custom bags are available)
Incase Dub Bag (Expensive, and not sure of availability in UK)
Undercover (Also expensive, have to ship from USA, but have confirmation that the Shuttle will fit!)

And I already know that this one will not work: Proel Deluxe Double Bag

So, does anyone have any experience with any of these bags and thing the Shuttle might fit? Or, any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

  14. I've heard good things about Lava Cable. Looks like they're available at Pedaler

  15.
I'm considering exactly the same setup! When are you planning on buying it?
I already have the Shuttle, and I'm next in line for a Compact...Alex said he's sending it out the 1st week of January. Now I just have to find a band willing to play with a Yank bass player!
