Hi have a Yamaha bb1025 with an intermittent fault, occasionally when the tone pot is adjusted output is drastically reduced then by turning the tone pot it comes back. Please excuse the ignorance is this just a matter of sourcing a pot and if so is it a suitable time to upgrade I have seen some discussion re changing from 250 to 500 pots.
My soldering skills are good so would anticipate tackling this myself

No love for great value bass in central Scotland.

Well I've been on the lookout for one of these for a while this came up on gumtree fairly local so I jumped in.
New strings fretboard clean with lemon oil plugged in and wow!
I have had a 425 for a couple of years which sounds great and has converted me to Yamaha basses, however this is awesome just so much rich tone and versatility plays very similarly to the 435 but now I see why everyone raves about them

Yea bathroom scales 4.4 kgs or 9 1/2 lbs
as for nut width between jazz and precision I would say closer to jazz
I moved to a 4 string one of these initially, as for the specific width of this one approx 43mm 18mm string spacing at bridge measured with a rule I don't have a vernier gauge so don't sue me 😀
