So, I've had a good amount of use out of this, and i'm after something a bit different i think, i'm open to swaps on this too, to the same value of mine, im not in the position to add money to this in exchange. It's been gigged 3 times, no damage at all to any part of the guitar (more detailed photos on request), been faultless, really impressed with the squier to be honest, but i'd like a change
Squier Mike Dirnt (Green Day) P-Bass in black with the white star on the top left face.
Model Name - Mike Dirnt Precision Bass
Colors - Black & Arctic White
Body - Agathis
Neck - Maple, Thick C Shape
Fingerboard - Rosewood, 9.5" Radius (241mm)
No. of Frets - 20 Medium Jumbo Frets
Pickups - 1 Split Single-Coil Precision Bass Pickup
Controls - Volume & Tone
Bridge - Standard 4-Saddle
Machine Heads - Standard Open-Gear Tuners
Hardware - Chrome
Pickguard - 1-Ply White on the black guitar, or black on the white guitar
Scale Length - 34" (864 mm)
Width at Nut - 1.6" (40.5 mm)
this has upgraded pickups, i couldnt varify the make though, but they're different to the original guitar:
it also has a wilkinson bridge, and upgrade from the original spec
on the left in the photo (sometimes you just got to point these things out )

This shows the pickups and the bridge (phone quality though )
I swapped my thunderbird for this, so would take anything around the £200 mark +postage
Swaps - I'm open to anything really, show me what you've got possibly a 5 string? try me
Guitar is located in camberley, GU15 1AS
message me on here, i'm pretty rapid with responding
priority to those closer to me, postage is a pain with these things. I would contemplate delivery, on train or something perhaps, but that would be up for discussion
Cheers

So i'm in a band called "Indigo Drive", and we're playing our first open mic night on thursday, then have a couple more booked throughout april, we've only been together about 7 months, and this is what we're doing for now (recorded off i-phone)

what do you guys reckon? we normally have a drummer, but he's working nights at the moment, hence the acoustic stuff
Cheers
Chris -
squier dirnt, and yeh the scratchplate is over the body, no cavaties under there
i've handed it over to my mates dad, whose pretty handy with it all, hopefully he'll be able to sort it out -
ok this is promising, could it have been dislodged whilst being delivered? it covered a fair few miles from scotland to here
thing is is that i dont know what i'm looking for as i'm a bit of a n00b -
i've just got a "mike dirnt" p-bass with Kent Armstrong P pickup and Wilkinson Tuners, and i've noticed a feedback kind of sound from the guitar thats constantly there, and gets louder when the amp is turned up, i've tried all my cables and it's the same no matter what.
The only thing that makes the sound go away is when i touch the volume or tone dials, or the metal plate around them, it sounds like i'm earthing the guitar when i touch it though.
any idea what this could be?
It's 2nd hand, and something may have been knocked whilst in transit?
Cheers
Chris -
just traded my thunderbird for jezzas mike dirnt and the trade went faultlessly, absolutely sound guy and was a pleasure to do business

thats amazing, thank you

right so i've realised more and more recently that the thunderbird dives alot, and it takes alot out of you over a 3 hour practice both playing and holding it up, but i love the shape and look of it
so my question to you good people is how can i stop it diving? change the location of the strap thingy? what solutions are there?
guitar in question:

as you can see the strap holder by the bridge is fine, i think it's the neck-side strap holder, could i move it maybe? to below the neck?
Cheers
Chris -
so i played with the amp for the first time at rehearsal tonight, and it's biblically loud (in my book anyway) without turning it up to 1/4 way round
i love it, it has the right sound we're after, and after playing around with the EQ and sub-harmonics the bottom end is awesome and what i was after
so all in all an amazing purchase and i'm very happy
