Now sold thanks
I bought this intending to use it as a basis for some swap-around mods, but as always happens, a more suitable bass for my 80s habits - a Status S2000 - came up for sale only a few days later. I wish I could afford to keep both but I can't, so I am selling for exactly what I paid.
I am willing to sell the neck or body separately if desired: the neck with the hipshot ultralight tuners included would be £400, the loaded body £120. The neck is in immaculate condition and is a brilliant play - absolutely even response across the whole fretboard, exactly what you would expect and hope for from Status. It's also very, very pretty with its carbon-fibre weave. Status are no longer producing new basses or necks, so this is a great chance to get one.
The bass is extremely well balanced with the hipshot tuners and weighs only 8lb 13oz.
Pickup welcome, or happy to post as I have the shipping box and padded gig bag. Message me with any questions.

For its year, was this the equivalent of a US Special/Performer, or a full US standard?

Beautiful! I’m not too clear on 65 as transition year. Was it still clay dots and nitro at this stage?

So is this an American Original rather than American Vintage range?

Are you sure there's 25% VAT? It's not a new item of course. There may be duty however. Does anyone know for sure? Nice nice nice..

It's VAT - see the section on buying used music instruments from individuals cross-border.

25% on top, so budget for about £2,300.

Wowser. Anyone know the new rules for VAT/duties when importing used musical instruments post-Brexit Because this is lush!

Jesus that’s a great price for one of these. Wish I had the money - I played one a while back at Bass Direct and it was stunning. Perfect neck and nut dimensions too. gLwTS
