Just to add, here’s a back story… I bought this same bass twice. Yes, I sold it and bought it back. I sold this to person A years ago… person A sold it to person B… and when person B had it for sale, I bought it back. I never doubted its authenticity and it definitely sounds great. I don’t mind keeping it, but I just can’t contain my GAS.

That bass would give you a lot to scratch it with.

I owned that 10 years ago. Not sure why I sold it but there you go. It was a tremendous instrument.

Loads of dents but all of them red - this has been refinished?

That would do it. Had no idea the finish was so thick - that's well over a mm if so.

So was the heel already very square and slab like then? My Mexican and even my Indonesian both have smoother and more rounded edges. I am surprised they are so different.

How did you taker the previous finish off - was it machine sanded?
