1. Have been given a shorty bass (30") but need advise on suitable replacement strings, preferably relatively cheap at that. It's a no-name sortof pBass config - not theed? Hofner type. Any suggestions, either flats or rounds, 'cause I 'aint that fussed.

Thanks in advance.

2. Has anyone here used a PodXT (not the bass version!) with any success? I know that there is a Bass model pack add-on available but at £50 could be a bit steep, and as am being given this Pod I thought I might be able to put it to some use.
Any thoughts?

3. Is it just me or what? I have my bass(es) correctly intonated and for most stuff no issue, but just lately when playing with the tone rolled off, I notice that the intonation seems off, this seems more apparent when I'm wearing headphones. When treble is increased and when playing over the bridge, the intonation returns to normal. This issue is driving me nuts 'cause I don't know if it's for real or just my imagination. Perhaps it's to do with the wavelength of lower notes or something.

4. Well, after trying a couple of 6'rs I have decided that the fretboard is just a wee bit too wide for my little paws, so I got to thinking... as I really don't think I'd use the low "B" much, but could find use for the top "C", especially in the upper register(s), what if I used a 5 string, ditched the low "B" and dropped the strings down so that the "E" was on the bottom and replaced the top string with a "C". What do I end up with? Is this a viable idea?
Please advise.

5. Yeah, but I'm a southpaw and that markedly reduces the options - or I could consider a five string, I guess. Funny enuough ( don't spell it like that!) Stellah make one of these for £150 or so. But as it's entry level stuff I might have to wait for something better.
I'd still like to get some feedback from anyone who has used/owned one though.

6. Well I'm looking to stretch my fingers over a 6-string. I don't yet know if I'll cope but I saw a really cheap one on e-bay but I don't know about the maker - Stellah! Any of you guys know any more? I've certainly seen nothing remotely this cheap (about £185). Worth taking a chance ?

7.
Immaculate condition, includes box and original manual. Quick sale wanted. Will try get a picture up by the end of the day but this thing really hasnt got a mark on it.

Prefer straight bank transfer
Please disregard offer for above - no response, so bought elsewhere.

8. Well, there i was with my bass and lying in front of me was a Zoom G1X pedal... doing nothing. I could'nt resist - expecting crap I was blown away when I plugged in. In fact, I would say that this pedal is well capable of handling a bass, so I am asking "Why dedicated pedals?"

9. Ummmm... so if I string a short scale (26" or thereabouts) with extra heavy strings, then what do I have? If not a bass of sorts (ie, tuned lower than a guitar) then what. I understand that travel basses and SX bases have very short scale lengths - so are these true bases or what?
Man, this is a bit of a minefield.

10. This might sound a bit lame but what is the difference between a piccolo bass (apparently tuned up an octave) and an ordinary guitar with heavy gauge strings - leaving aside the number of strings? I have been looking and listening to a bit of Jeff Schmidt and it sounds all the world as if he's playing just that - a normal scale (at least for a guitar) with heavy strings.
Any of you guys give me a heads up on this one, please.
