1. Selling this as was intended to be my spare / backup. I'm not playing much these days so it needs to go.

Never gigged, only ever played at home. Fitted with Pyramid Gold flatwounds and geuine honfer gold teacup knobs. Also fitted with the Hofner leather strap as used on the violin bass.

Comes complete with good quality Hofner hard case and the original knobs etc. I would say this is in near perfect condition due to its light use.

Will arrange additional shipping costs at buyers expense when sale is agreed.

Any questions, please fire away!

2. Worked this out for myself yesterday, before I saw your reply. Fairly new to programming effects, used to a stomp box that just works. Took a bit of fiddling about, it seems to track quite well but with headphones on it sounds a little artificial. Will test it with the full rig next rehearsal, my feeling is that in the band mix, it will do for a few songs. The true test will be to see how the low notes hold out...

Thanks for the tip though, you were right.

3. Looking for help ... the band I play in downtunes 2 semitones (Drop D) for half a set. Rather than mess about changing or tuning guitars, I thought I’d try the pitch shifter on my MS-3.

Tried it (following instructions) and it appears to overlay the pitch shifted note with the original note.

Anyone know how to use this effect and am I either expecting too much or not doing it right 🙂

4. Used but good condition. Velcro on back and rubber feet in original box with instructions.
Small black pen markers where I set my dials, haven’t tried to clean off but barely noticeable. Price includes 1st Class postage

5. As new condition SolidGold FX Beta pedal.

This has been an "always on" pedal for me, love it so much I'm upgrading to the Deluxe version. Complete with box etc. Awesome pedal.

Velcro on back, sticky feet in the box.

Price includes 1st Class postage.

6. I have a new BB-1X and I'm happy with it. Overdrive is much more subtle, with plenty of headroom before it turns into a fuzz. Most importantly it's a good Pre-amp, and allows me to give a shaped, balanced feed to my PA. (Perfectly aware that there are plenty of other pedals that already do this!)

I'd recommend it over the ODB-3 any day.

Need to experiment on settings to shape the DI signal, only low and high knobs, with a blend mix, and not sure how best to work that with the EQ settings on the mixing desk. Any tips appreciated...?? Want to get the same sound out of front of house if possible. The DI on the amp itself was not cutting it for me.

Anyone got any advice on settings at the mixer for a DI'd preamp signal?

8. PS - mine has never had a cover on the bridge. The bridge was pretty crap and corroded a long time ago - was replaced for a generic type before I understood the value of decent parts!

9. I have a Vox Standard Bass - was my first bass when I began playing about 20 odd years ago. They were made in early 80's, and considered to be the best basses Vox ever put their name to. (Japan made).

Mine is a beast. It's heavy and growly-loud for a passive bass.I couldn't play it now! Black gloss body and maple neck and head.

Difficult to sell as Vox have changed hands so often there are no records relating to serial numbers from that period. Value is only what someone wants to pay I guess.

10. Well I gigged the BB-1X last night, and used it as a pre amp into my Orange Terror Bass 500w Combo.

The overdrive was a really pleasant surprise, has a lovely natural valve tone - just what I wanted. Our drummer uses top end Roland V-Drums (let's not get into that one!) and as such we tend to keep our stage volume pretty low with everything going through a brand new Yamaha PA. I cannot always get my amp at such a volume it drives naturally.

Having previously owned the ODB-3, the BB-1X is a million miles away in terms of sound. The drive knob can be turned past 12 o'clock before it sounds more like a fuzz, so plenty of room to get a nice valve overdrive tone which is to your liking.

Need to experiment on settings to shape the DI signal, only low and high knobs, with a blend mix, and not sure how best to work that with the EQ settings on the mixing desk. 11. Why would you want to gig without a decent amp / cab set up? Beats me...

I have the Orange Terror Bass Combo 500W - picked a 12 month old one up recently on eBay for £450 - Bargain! I've used Ampeg last 10 years (SVT CL, later downsized to SVT 7 Pro) and this Orange is a lovely toned amp. You won't get that sound from DI to Monitors on a stage, so in my mind it is a waste of money.

Also with recent tech you don't need to use your amp for home recording. I use the Apogee Jam 96k plugged into my Mac, Garage Band and Logic Pro X have a huge selection of plug-ins to emulate any kind of decent amp set up. If you don't have a Mac then I'm sure there are plenty of similar options for your Focusrite 2i2 into PC.
