  1. Just throwing it out here out of interest...
I got hold of a OLP mm2... the usual... but it has been signed on the back by Chris wolsteholme in marker pen... ideally i wanted to give the guitar a new lease of life by stripping and recoating etc...... do you think the signature has any relevance towards the value of the guitar and worth keeping on?
I have no certification but im sure I can get his sister (who works behind the bar in one of my locals in Teignmouth) to authenticate...
    What do you reckon?

  2. I been learning/brushing up on set for sunday - Im depping for the bands usual player.... nothing too stretching, but a few interesting songs along with some equally dodgey ones!!... dont shoot the messenger (so to speak!!)

they could a least buy you a drink..
[/quote] I saw a couple of the guys in the pub on saturday night - they didnt offer a drink.... I think thats the last of my help.....

  4. Hi - just interested to hear your views on a very small issue - nothing overly important, but wondering what the ettiquette is....

I have been helping out a band in practice sessions, as their bassist cannot make the practice session (strange, but hey!), we play for about three hours on a saturday morning at a small dedicated music rehearsal facility. My role for three occasions now, is to help them in learning and general playing of the music.... I do not mind as it is simple enough music and it occupies my saturday morning. I volunteer my help for free as I know a couple of the band members socially....

So.... at the end of my last session with them they asked if I would help out next saturday - I said no problem.... they then asked for a share of the facility hiring fee.... not too expensive, but as I didnt have any cash with me I said I could not... they said thats okay - you can pay for it next week!!

My question being - should I be expected to pay as I will not be in the band during their gigs and I help for free..... what do you reckon?

  5. The gigs went well....Len - I had different shirts!!! it was really hot up there (stage under marquee cover)... but a great relaxed couple of sets in the sun on the beach too! http://www.newquayinn.co.uk/

  6. Hi... a quick intro... been playing/learning for about 3 years now - and finally started doing a few gigs with band and really enjoying it! nothing too serious apart from the bar bill! also stand in for bass player in another band... doing a help for heroes charity gig tomorrow (saturday) with 3 other bands - it turns out I am playing in 2 of the bands!
Anyhow - south Devon based... thats it for the minute!
    cheers
    Peter
