1. There have been lots of changes. One thing the Quality Control on the new ones are great. You can still get a 2 band EQ like the old ones, or get a 3 band as well. Plus there are more pickup options: single humbucker, 2 humbuckers, and a single coil neck pickup with a bridge humbucker. You can't go wrong with a Musicman.

  2.
Isn't the Sterling a SR with a jazz neck?
It does have a thinner neck than a SR, but it also has a different preamp, and a different sound.

Between J or P; for me it's a P. Maybe because the new hasn't worn off of it yet. My Jazz was my number one for years, but lately it's been the P. It's a 62 AVRI with flats on it and it gets the job done. I get more than one sound out of it with the tone knob.

  3.
Thanks guys. Kaye certainly didn't always use a pick.
I have several of her books and videos and I don't remember her ever mentioning not playing with a pick. How did I miss that one?

Not arguing, I just want to know what I missed.

  4. My number one is a 5 string Bongo with a single H. If it's a wedding or a party gig, I'll bring a Stingray to slap on.

I get the sounds I need from the Bongo and love the way it plays. I've got a couple of Fenders but the Bongo is my work horse.
