1. For me it was simply enjoyment, which was mainly driven by the band as a sum up people. Usually there has with been someone with delusions of being signed without the talent, pushing too hard rather than enjoying the journey.

Someone taking it too seriously or not serious enough abs wasting time.

For me now, I'd rather play functions or covers in a pub with some great people and food musicians than play with big egos who are signed.. Life is too short..

Good people, good music, no ego.. I'm there

  2. I reported that thread, I would guess others may have.. My reason for reporting it was that it was such a long time ago and also the guy still uses the site and to be teased like we're all in our pre-teens a year later is rather infantile.. and not that nice...

On the flip side, he only spends his time on the classified section ;)

The OP asked: Have you had this problem, and what did you do about it? Can you train a drummer like you can train dogs, kids and spouses, i.e. by using a reward system? Or what?

Actually re-reading this, the OP question is rather drummer-bashing, so it’s not surprising what has unfolded.

I've finally read all of Davo-London posts and as someone who is actually has worked pro on both drums and bass, I couldn't agree more. The drummer is the driving force of a band and drummer has the most physical part in the band. It's not easy, as bassist getting fed up being told that bass is 'easy', I thought you guys who know better... anyway rant over... I still think lessons is the key and anothet non-drummer telling him, might not go down well, unless you a mate

  4. I play drums and bass and have professionally.. should we have a drum subgroup then, or a singer, saxsphone or other??

Keep it simple... Bass. If I want drums or other, I go there. I also like basschat for what it is, as most bassist unless they play professionally have the chance talk to other bassists. In a band you might get 2 guitarists or 2 singers or sax or horn players, singers.. but not bass

I'd second that, just learnt it having never heard of the band before my bass teacher suggested it and it's a really good fun line to play, especially the prechorus section.

NO doubt tunes are fun. I've learnt that for some functions.

    I learnt this for fun
