1. Selling this rig due to it being surplus to requirements. The cab was bought off here back in the days when it was bassworld.co.uk (and it were nowt but fields round 'ere!) from I think someone called Rich. It was originally an Ashdown Mag115T but the stock driver was taken out and replaced by what I believe was a Marshall one - and it's now 4 ohm rather than the stock 8.

The head is standard Behringer fare, but surprisingly feature-rich for a budget amp. It's got a 5 band EQ, mid-shape, "Deep" and "Bright" switches (low and high mid boosts respectively), FX loop, post-EQ DI and even a built-in octaver (labelled "Ultrabass"). The mid-shape and octaver can be toggled with the included foot-switch. The sound of the amp is surprisingly transparent, and you can get a good range of tones out of the EQ features. The octaver is functional if non-spectacular; it won't manage much below a low A and gives up entirely for chords, but used sparingly can be quite effective.

The two used in combination is loud. The head's been gigged maybe a half-dozen times, and the cab has only been out in public once or twice. There's some damage to the rubber corners (pictured) but that's the only cosmetic damage I can see and everything functions perfectly.

This would be a perfect budget buy for someone looking to upgrade from their practice amp to something which pushes enough air for band sessions or small- to medium-sized gigs, depending on how hard your drummer likes to 'it fings wiv sticks.

Reason for sale is that 300W through a 1x15 is, shall we say, slight overkill for me pootling in my spare room since I don't play with a band these days.

I'm looking for somewhere around £120 for the two in combination, and I'd rather sell them together than separately. That's inclusive of the unpictured footswitch and I'll even be extra-generous and throw in the kettle lead and speaker cable too.

Pick-up from Hertfordshire (approximately 35 miles north out of London, right off the M1) preferred. If anyone's extra keen then I'll look into postage.

  2. Bloody Squier! They're not allowed to release stuff like this when I'm moving house and so am absolutely flat broke.

I'm not sure I can justify a fretless for any gigging purposes, but I wouldn't mind having one for funsies and £195 (Dolphin Music) is so sorely tempting...
