Here's my Ken Smith BSR6GN, it has the lowest action of any bass I've played. It plays like butter, with a great neck, beautiful construction and versatile electrics.

The last five digits of the serial number are FVP11 which stand for

F= Figured maple

V= 5 pc body wings

P= Presentation grade 4a figure in the maple (USA grown English Sycamore, old growth)

11 = 2011, the year made.

The body core is western figured maple, quilt/flame, the dark laminates are walnut, sawn from 1" stock and all matched.

The heel cap is tiger maple from British Columbia/western Canada and the smaller cam touching the neck is Shedua. The body strips to the nack/body joint are shedua and the neck is maple and shedua.

That right there would be my absolute, ultimate dream bass! If you ever find yourself in desperate need of a kidney..... 😜

Been a while since anyone posted some Ken Smith.

So here are mine. 1989 BT5 from The Stick of this parish. 1991 BT6 from ebay.

After decades playing Fender & Musicman, went boutiquey. Purchased an Alembic Essence 5 (since sold), and these two all last year (big year).

Kept both musicmans (4 & 5). But have to say the Smiths are something else.

Any other Smith owners?

I registered at Ken’s forum to ask some questions about mine a while ago. He didn’t approve my account because he thought my surname (Hiscocks) was a joke, he said it sounded like a ‘porn name’ lol. All rectified with a chat - quite amusing.

I know some people say he’s rude and arrogant etc but personally I don’t care if he’s a serial killer, I love his basses. That’s where my interest in him ends :)

Oh hello, everybody! New Smith owner here!

My new bass so happens to be this beautiful 2004 Black Tiger, BSR6TN! It''s always been a dream of mine to play a Smith like this. I don't need to tell you all KS lovers how good she sounds ;)
