SS73 Posted February 8, 2010 Share Posted February 8, 2010 Thanks guys, I bought it in the US a few years ago, I don't think it had ever been played and at that only ever with flats, I did have a few issues with the pot's which I will write a thread soon about. My EB2 at best has a medium/high action that I just put down to the short scale length. The Ebay 'Bird looks well looked after. It is very easy to wear through the finish like that. My 09 had the finish wear through first time I used it with a strap Really nice padded strap as well Interesting that the seller mentioned the balance "issue". My 09 is no problem at all. I can let go of it, and it stays put. The '76 is definately a lot more headstock heavy. And his non-reverse 'bird :wub: ) Retroman, re the EB-2 mud; the bridge p/up definitely helps add some bite but I was surprised how articulate it is even on neck p/up only - DR roundwounds and some high mids boost on the amp helps! I have been using short scale, light guage Roto's on mine. I'll try messing about with the amp EQ a bit more, and see what happens. She really does have a super fast neck, despite the high action. Perhaps some heavier guage DR's will tighten the sound up a bit? Plays like an absolute dream, id always wanted an EB3 but the shop I went in had an EB3 and the LP in at the same time. I walked out with the LP as I fell in love with the look of it, and it has so many more tones possible than the EB. The last couple are piccies of my good self using the weapon in action.
