argh! and the first photo arrives.. didn't put my order in till half 6 yesterday. so probably another night for me to wait.. :)
I picked mine up in the Glasgow store since I couldn't be bothered hanging about for a day waiting for it to be delivered. Also got to have a little play through one before I got it. Pretty chuffed (and skint)

mine is here, looks great! :)

is a 4ohm one too, bonus! suits me better as they said it'd be 8ohm in the phone & i want to use it alone if poss.
am thinking of getting the Puma 350 head to go with it as that'll give me 350 watts into the 4ohm. imagine that should give me enough volume for small venues or just onstage sound at larger ones?

Result! Did you get the M or S series? The one item that sorely tempted me was a 4 ohm 212M but they reckoned that they had none, just the S version.

In answer to your question; I reckon the Puma + 2x12 will easily do you for small venues and monitoring at large venues when you have PA support... if it doesn't and you have the M version just give me a shout.
It sounds like it's been a bit of a lucky dip...!
Yeh it was a bit mad when I phoned the sales line, they were struggling to come to terms with what they had and didn't have (compounded by descriptions not matching product codes), even the staff in the stores needed guidance with identifying what they had in front of them; (Me to staff) "I'll tell you what, just tell me how many drivers, what size they are and how wide the cab is and I'll tell you whether it is the S or the M model." :)

Was the S series which I kind of expected after it had been highlighted on here. the M would've been better as a stand alone cab, but the extra space saving won't go amiss!

Just ordered the Puma 350 to go with it! :)

Thoughts so far...

This thing is stupidly light. Easily a one handed lift.

It's plenty loud enough. Even on minimum volume, it's pushing what I can get away with for flat practice volume!

I think I've found my tonal nirvana... TI Flats -> Fender Precision Deluxe -> ACG Preamp -> Tecamp.

It has a tilt-back system consisting of a small aluminium rod that is stowed on clips on the bottom of the amp. There's a holder for it in the port on the back of the amp, which allows the amp to be tilted to a ~45º angle. Which is perfect for the sort of small gigs that I play.

I am, however, slightly disconcerted about the amount of hiss that the amp emits. It's very noticeable with the master above ¼. Adding treble to the EQ really brings it out. I think I'm going to pop back to G.G. tomorrow and compare to the one that they had on demo. I certainly didn't notice a hiss on that one (and had it turned up quite loud), so I think I may have got a bit of a lemon.
Just ordered a 210 S, anyone know if these come with a cover like the tech soundsystem stuff?
Not sure they do - I think they're an optional accessary. I was actually looking for the official TecAmp covers online because they look great, but I can't find them anywhere.

I own the Puma 1000 and have also used various used various other Tecamp heads and combos in shops and all very quiet as a mouse. My Puma doesn't hiss with the gain up hight. I'd check out another unit as you suggested.
BTW
No fan noise either - it just does a test blast on start up and then it thermostatically controlled and has to be pushed really hard to cut in.

What a little beast! The 350w Puma and S212 are way louder than my HD500 and Triad, and stupidly light! So many useable tones from the amp, normally I'm not a fan of boosted mids but this brings out a perfect tone, especially with a little tweak of the taste control. Looking forward to trying it out with the band!

Got a pic but can't upload it direct from my phone

Glad to hear it. Did you get the 8ohm or 4ohm S212 in the end?
