It give the back pickup a bit more body to the tone than those that are closer to the bridge. Bit like Gary Willis' bass. Front pickup is moved back a little as well. 33" scale as well. As far as fives are concerned, I tried Scott's bass at the Overwater London Bass Day a couple of years ago, but the spacing was slightly too narrow for me, so I'm going with 17mm on my new Original Series.
