Anyone have experience of the BSY600?

Its so amazingly cheap for a basic synth pedal, is it any good at all?
I'd love to play around with some funky effects but i'm not sure I can justify a couple of hundred quid on an EH X or other synth pedal for the bass.

OK thanks guys - appreciate the comments. Not really striving for a particular sound , just wanting a funky envelope follwer type of thing and some synth tones to play with, if it was half decent it would have been worth a £45 punt but since you have now mercilessly ridiculed the poor thing I will content myself with finishing off my home build Bassballs.
I guess you get what you pay for.

Why that you certainly do! Bought a EX BMS and havn't regretted it since. I'm getting it mod'd pretty soon as well. The only other thing was that I used it so much that I have to have it on it's own stand (or another bassist's amp) so that I can change the controls for songs. The only problem then is that I had to build a single looper to turn it on/off with my fot as bashing it with my hand didn't seem like a good idea. You will probably have the same problem with the behringer if it's any good and has more than 1 sound that you like on it. Except it'll be even harder because it has tiny controls. Your move. I'd buy it if I saw it going cheap (and i mean, £20 kind of cheap)

Al: Might be worth keeping your eyes peeled for a used EHX BMS. They usually go for about £110 quid (based on the three I've bought...) and for that money they are great value. It'll do that '70s filter-sweepy mono synth bass sound better than anything other pedal or combination of pedals I've heard. And a fair few other tricks besides.

Bear in mine though that it won't do "envelope filter". The filter is great, but it isn't envelope-controlled, its sweep is set up quite strictly using the sliders, rather than using your playing dynamics to open and close the filter.
But it will get pretty close to a synthy envelope. You can set the rate quite low and the sliders to start low and then get higher. Can get quite messy if you don't play very tight, clean lines.
The envelope is pre-set by the three sliders, that's my point. It doesn't generate an envelope from the dynamics of your playing, and will never sound like an envelope filter.

Cheap alternatives may be the Ibanez pedal (can't remember it's name), it doesn't sound very "old school" to my ears but it's not bad at all.
Another choice may be the Digitech one. I tried it once, not my cup of tea but I can see that someone may actually get some use out of it :)

Been out to try the Behringer and the Boss you're right about the Behringer, so very cheap but the tracking is really hit and miss. Does loads of really silly sounds of no real use. The Boss is a little more than I'd like to pay but it seems to give a good wide range of synthy envelope tones and the tracking is pretty good.
the Ibanez 0one looked interesting as its in the right price bracket for me, but I can't find one nearby to play with.
Digitech do one too but no-one has one in my local guitar shops.

Buy 2nd-hand, if you don't like it you can always sell it at the same price

Here are some samples anyway, just to get the general idea (they're a bit exaggerated, IMO):
