BC Rich? Traben?

After celebrating becoming 20 on Monday...

I have began to wonder, for a good thrash metal sound can the guitars that boast the thrash metal look cut it in the sound department as well?
Having never picked up a BC Rich Bass or a Traben for that matter. Thus, I pose the question to all... Are they even fun toys? Good thrash guitars?

This is for no reason in particular, would just like to know!

Old BC richs are nice, new ones have gone a bit budget. You can score an old NJ series for cheap if its pointy, due to limited market, I got a battered Warlock for £60. Loads of legendary thrashers played BC basses.

Edit, I used a NJ Mockingbird for recording, sounds beasty.

Traben are owned by the company that own B.C.Rich

As for Tone,I suggest you find somewhere that stocks them and try both makes out,I'll be honest, there are some B.C.Rich shapes that don't balance too well, the Mockingbird for one,but if you love 'em,you learn to deal with it

There are also some B.C.Rich shapes that suck, the Virgo and Virgin for example

Best of luck :)

I used a Traben Array 5-string LTD in my band for a time.
We were doing stuff between Prog and Mathcore and it certainly cut through!
It's got a MM humbucker @ bridge and Sopabar at the neck.
Didn;t like the feel though but it certainly cuts through.

I don't use it no more and it collects dust...unfortunatly.
