The first one I went to I forgot my rack and borrowed space on someone else's.

There's usually plenty going on and one thing I tend to find is that I haven't had time to talk to everyone and see everything.

I'm happy to say to folks play what you like of mine (but don't break it!), but I wouldn't assume the same of everyone's prized possessions and some say they couldn't play someone else's bass.

I had one bass and one rig when I went to my first Bash. Current count 6 basses, and 4 separate rigs 🙄

I’ve always though my ACG Skelf has a slight Spector quality about it so would be happy to throw that into the ring. Not really sure if that’s what you’re going for or trying to compare 5 different Js or Ps or something?

Personally, I reckon unless we had several fivers in the mix, it would be too much of a giveaway if there was just one...the last shoot out was all four string basses.  I was open to anyone submitting whatever bass they wanted.

In the case of the South West Bass Bash:

You turn up with whatever basses, amps, FX, anything else you like, and then Mrs @scrumpymike and the Scrumpettes serve up their amazing smorgasbord and the rest of the day is lost. Basses? What basses?

This year my plan is to spend more time looking at other folks kit - I always seem to get to the end of the day and wonder where the time went!

I'm debating whether to bring 8 Rickenbackers (and the Rickenberger) or a selection of oddments.

I should have Ampeg SVP & SansAmp RBI pre-amps in a case with a class-D power-amp, if anybody's interested in contrasting them (however, it would require figuring out how to use the controls on the Ampeg!).

Also a note to self: don't forget to check the batteries in any actives!
