When is it time to stop buying more basses?

Oooh! A new Ritter?

Yes, spotted it completely by chance. Jens discovered he had 4x white LH tuners so he decided to make a black bass with all white hardware and a 4 in line headstock.

Purely as a one-off build and with an extra hot wind pickup placed in the P position.

This would give me a white J-style and black P-Style!

After being in double figures for years I am now down to four, all fill a niche. At the moment I have zero GAS for bass stuff. It has taken many years but I am happy now with what I have. Feels strange in a way……

I've owned only 8 in total, never more than 3 at the same time. I'm down to 2.

I doubt I'd buy another bass. Quite the opposite, I'd probably sell both before even thinking of buying another. I only play if I'm in a band, but being in a band is looking ever more distant.

So for me the answer is when you've got no more use for them.
