Is Studio One loading in lots of plug-ins that you don't need? Can you create an empty song with nothing in it. Has the memory usage increased massively? Then add the sorts of tracks you would normally one at a time and see if there is a point at which the memory usage suddenly shoots right up.

I tried making a dummy track.... and following the results in memory usage:

Seems like amplitube is causing big jumps.

And it goes down again after a break - does that make any sense?

It's whe nthe total memory usage goes into the high 80's that I get audio issues. And even the nthe DAW is only using max 3GB.

I might get some more RAM , but still seems like the PC is wasting a load of RAM.

On Edit: Just thought.... I didn't have Amplitube on the old PC.

Started using Edge (to log onto Basschat) and now the usage is up to 80% with the old Windows manager issue:

Studio one is still open, same song. But only 120BM. Even playing the song takes it up to 221MB.

Strange.

Why was the 'Desktop Window Manager' so high? Maybe look into that with a Google search.

Maybe check this.

It should be quite low really. This is mine.
