Which 5 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Inductees?

Which 5 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022 Inductees?

59 members have voted

  1. 1. I know, it's a load of old tosh and I haven't created this thread to argue the merits (or not) of the RARHOF, but I was just looking at the nominees list and was having a hard time narrowing it down to just 5. Just for fun, who would you choose?

Looks like Dolly has opted out.

Snip from Daily Mirror:

Writing on Instagram on Monday, the singer told her fans: “Dolly here! Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don’t feel that I have earned that right. I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out.

“I do hope that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will understand and be willing to consider me again – if I’m ever worthy. This has, however, inspired me to put out a hopefully great rock ‘n’ roll album at some point in the future, which I have always wanted to do!

Steve Albini (Alt rock producer.... kinda lo-fi I guess) has offered to produce it.

I'd be interested to hear it as a collaboration with Jack White of the White Stripes.

Songs co-Written by Dolly/Jack, and arranged by Dolly/Jack too.

Recorded by Steve Albini.

Kate, Dolly, Pat, Duran Duran, Eurhythmics for me. Pat Benatar because I think she was one of the few women putting a huge footprint in the male-dominated world of rock (pronounced rawck) - I'm surprised she isn't showing that well in the Basschat poll.

I love Pat Benatar, but that 'huge footprint' has a bit to do with the guy she's married to.

I have issues with the RARHOF, since when we’re the likes of Dolly or Dionne Warwick rock & roll? Don’t get me wrong, fantastic artists, but rock & roll? Methinks not. Therefore, I voted for the acts that have some rock & roll credentials and have had the potential to be influential, not necessarily acts that I particularly like, at all.

It's like the Hard Rock cafe. Last time I was in one, many moons ago, they were playing Wham! Made me feel ill and the food taste a bit sour.

Still no Iron Maiden or Megadeth? What a farce.

I voted for Dolly and Kate Bush.

This ...Iron Maiden, they influenced   bands/ artists.. e.g. Metallica, Lady Gaga...I voted for RATM and Judas Priest

I voted for Dolly partly to wind up the sort of people who don’t think Dolly should be in it but mostly because any ‘hall of fame’ without Dolly in it really doesn’t deserve the name.

Cool that people are finding out about Fela though.
