In:

Gibson SG

TI Flats

Roto rounds

Solidgoldfx Beta

Catalinbread SFT

Polytune tuner

Pedal train nano

Out:

Epiphone Jack Casady

GK1001 RB MK2

DOD meatbox

Epiphone thunderbird classic pro. Really kicking myself for this and have pestered the guy about buying it back.

Earlier this year I also bought and then returned a Gibson Les Paul Jnr. They're a lovely bass, but I couldn't justify keeping it as it wouldn't get used that much. I originally bought it to then sell my p bass, but preferred the p bass........which I'm now thinking about selling 😂

In:

Mesa Boogie Big Block 750 amp (possibly the finest purchase I've ever made)

Cort A4 Plus bass (a close second best)

Positive Grid Spark 40 combo

Nux Bumblebee pedalboard

EHX Bass Clone chorus pedal

Source Audio Aftershock pedal

Source Audio Programmable Graphic pedal

Harley Benton ISO 10AC Pro power supply

Job lot of strings to head off the great string shortage of 2022.....

In and then out:

Sterling SB14 bass (I'm an idiot, I know i'll be looking for another Musicman at some point...)

TC SubnUp Mini pedal

Out:

Darkglass M900 amp (Itch scratched - I'm done with class D stuff now)

Sire V7 bass

Zoom B3N pedal

Zoom MS60B pedal

Hiscox case that I found in the loft

Fender Mustang guitar amp that I found in the loft

That doesn't look too bad on paper - I have the same number of basses and gigging amps that I started the year with :-) And the gigs have come back to finance some stuff.

But I think I'm about to disappear down a pedal rabbit hole.... I've moved over to pedals with knobs rather than menu's cos I just can't read the bloody things anymore and consequently had to change from a 5 output power supply to a 10 output one. I currently need 7 of them so it would be a shame not to use the remaining 3! I can smell a bass synth and maybe a little looper arriving in the future....

I've been a bass player for 40 years. I, like many of you have had hundreds of basses over that time, every make and model you can think of.

Around 5yrs ago I hit hard times.  Horrendous times, personally and financially. So everything went to pay rent and survive. My last basses.... 2 Stingrays, 78 P bass and a Gretsch Thunderjet plus my TC rig, all gone. I've had nothing since.

Literally 6 weeks ago life turned around financially, new job, new hope.

So..... I'm starting to rebuild gently at first....

In:

Yamaha RBX460

Hohner B Bass

TC BG250

Totally delighted with all 3, under £500 for all 3.... the TC was £40!!

Looking forward to a P bass, a Jazz and a Stingray joining the gang next year.

The RBX460 was the start of my new journey, a gift from my new partner....and I couldn't have started with a better, albeit modest instrument, and honestly the Hohner is immense, up there with basses 3 times its price.

NEVER give up fighting. I'm proof that life can turn around, even when there seems like there's no hope.... keep fighting. It WILL get better.

Deep breath. Here we go:

IN

ACG TKO Classic

Glockenklang Blue Rock

Barefaced Two10S

Barefaced Machinist (but I won this, I didn’t buy it!)

MXR Bass Octave (which will be sold again soon, when I can get my derrière in gear)

Mooer Bass Sweeper

Various LaBella and Status strings

OUT

Ashdown RM210T

Ashdown RM800

Teetering on the verge of being out:

Barefaced One10 (I have two, plus the Two10, so only one is being kept and @eudeis taking the other)

Ashdown ABM (since getting the Glock this just never gets a look in)

MXR Bass Octave (as mentioned above. Bought because I thought I needed it, turns out I didn’t)
