You misread what I wrote, I was talking about the natural over aging of wood or anything organic due to the humidity and temperature, and the danger of the swamps is their fauna. 😉

I didn't misread what you wrote. The danger of the non swamps is their human fauna.

Eventually not such a good idea as lead would protect them against radiations.

Thanks @Hellzero

Just thanks.

That was the joke!

Lead (pb) being too dense to allow α and β radiation through, therefore providing useful shielding in nuclear power stations and the like.

The joke was based on the pun 'lead guitarist' (as opposed to rhythm), vs 'lead' (the element pb) guitarist.

But no, you had to go and explain it!

Sometimes you're so dense, light bends around you!

If true, it's the most egregious example of the most utterly pointless pretentious tripe. You don't need a nuclear fallout zone to find out what  a neglected musical instrument sounds like.

This is true. Drop me a line and you can come round to mine - I have loads

As a composer/sound artist I can kind of see where they’re coming from with this. I can understand too why someone might want this particular library. It certainly isn’t worth risking your health/life to obtain the recordings though.

I think I prefer Hildur Guðnadóttir's approach rather than frying my nether regions for some unique Chernobyl inspired sounds! I agree with you.
