Lets just say I've been looking on AliExpress and asked about a Custom Build of something Plain with a Rear Route, as ever... and now have a 6 week wait. Black logo for a white TRC, and i've asked for a TRC in matching fretboard wood (or a suitably sized blank...) so the White logo is for that... should look quite subtle... PaulThePlug Posted March 3, 2022 Share Posted March 3, 2022 (edited) I'll see how i go... i like the simple look of the Rick-o-like bridge, and aware that you need to shim the middle saddles to try to match the fretboard radius... gonna use something like a 1mm or 1.5 mm stainless steel washer underneath, Or depending on set up height, maybe file or grind down the outer 2 by a mill or so. Once height and intonation is set, fit n forget... not like i'm gonna be swapping strings often. Won't have any extra dosh to throw at it, ala Hipshot at £150ish... or really want to dig out the body for any damper... and wouldnt want to fit a Fender Type high mass... It is what it is... Should be OK as long as I don't stray above the 12th too often! Was meant to have plain white body binding to match the neck, but looks like it got the standard chequer... I quite like the traditional chunky look of the Rick-o-like bridge and will shim the center sadles. If i don't get on with it i might go for a cheap high mass type, or If a secondhand Scaller or Hipshot Rick comes up, maybe, but they are never cheap. As for the heel... body is unstained and a satin finish, so could get a bit of reprofiling if over troublesome. The hipshot ric wont fit as it is a replacement for a normal Rick bridge, but the Chinese Rick copies are much further forward, so it would have to be fitted with a big gap behind it.
