Fender Bassman '59 combo

Just a query about these guitar amps...i.e. the 50w 4X10 guitar combo.

I presume these were originally meant to be bass amps but were then adopted by guitarists,

The question I have is: Are the ones today useable as bass amps ?

The should sound amazing but I'm not sure of the speakers are able for an actual bass guitar.

I used to own a Fender Bassman TV15. Which was a tweed, reissue version, designed specifically for bassists in the 21st century and is loud enough (350 watts) to play in a band with.

They were discontinued but can be picked up secondhand.

I used to own one. Nice bass tone but nowhere near enough volume to gig with on bass unless you are accompanying an acoustic act in a  Coffee shop. Superb guitar amp, really rocks.

I’ve the Ashdown little bastard so I reckon it might be in that ball park volume wise. I read some of the spec and the drivers are only 25w ea. Probably not practical as a bass amp and too expensive.
