SOLD: Limited Edition Epiphone Wildkat with Hard Case
£350

Recommended Posts

For sale is a refurbished Limited Edition Epiphone Wildkat.

Made in August 2012 this was a limited run in metallic black (Black Royale) which looks fantastic. When I got the guitar it hadn't been played for some years and I have carefully recommissioned it as a project.  After an initial inspection I installed a brand new high quality jack socket as the original had failed, and then cleaned up all the electrics which now work without fault or crackle. Jack failure isn't uncommon on these types of guitars and the new socket should give years of hassle free service.

I then stripped all the hardware and cleaned and polished the paintwork to a high shine. The bodywork is virtually mark free - the only blemish is a small hairline crack where the binding on the underside of the neck at the cutaway meets the paint as pictured in photo 6. This can't be seen or felt when playing and is purely superficial, otherwise this is in absolute stunning condition for a 9 year old guitar. After this the frets were then polished, the fretboard cleaned and oiled, all metal work cleaned and polished, and then the guitar was reassembled with Ernie Ball slinky strings (9's). I then did a final set up, adjusting the truss rod to which moves easily and works perfectly to set the relief, and finally set the string height and intonation at the bridge.

The guitar now looks great and plays brilliantly, and as a bonus comes with a factory hard case (worth £100 alone) which again is in really excellent condition, and does a great job of protecting the guitar. The P90 pick ups are really versatile, they obviously do the hollow body 335 type thing really well, but also dirty up really nicely for rock tones too, and the Bigsby is a lovely addition. I have photos of the restoration should the buyer be interested in seeing them. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Cash on collection from Chelmsford.
