proy900 Posted July 11, 2021 Share Posted July 11, 2021 Hi guys, Anyone technically proficient able to posit what will be damaged in this scenario: Support band bassist plugs his amp into my cab via speakon cable whilst mine is still connected via jack input. Horrendous mistake. Immediate regret. Both amps dead. Plug fuse and internal fuse checked and still intact No lights or life in my Microtubes other than a “turning on” electrical sound when flicking the power on, and a faint electric ticking sound. nilebodgers Posted July 11, 2021 Share Posted July 11, 2021 In my experience a faint acoustic ticking sound is one of the symptoms of a switch-mode power supply failing to start up and periodically re-trying. Could be the power amp is dead, could be the power supply is dead, but either way it needs expert attention. Unless you are lucky I’d prepare yourself for a substantial bill to fix it.
