Sting falling on the piano and then laughing at the beginning of Roxanne

This clip plays two phrases from the 2nd verse of Roxanne. Compare the reverb tail at the end of "night" and "right." The first decays naturally and cleanly, the second ends abruptly.

Paperback Writer with only one of the other channels on? Can't recall if it is R or L but you can tell its all on one continuous vocal take cause you can hear Macca snuffling

accident master tape Led Zep III? I think I read that the first few inches of the tape got crinkled up somehow, and they had to iron it flat to get it through the tape heads, resulting in that weird hissing sound at the beginning of "Immigrant Song".

Led Zep, Black Country Woman.

Chatter and Airplane Noise... "No, Leave It

I was thinking of mentioning this, but wondered if it qualified as they deliberately left it in.

But either way it's a classic moment, isn't it?

I remember listening to this in various friend's bedrooms, and always joining in with this quote. Happy days 🙂

Led Zeppelin: In My Time of Dying

"my dying dying dying....cough   Thats got to be the one hasn't it!"

I think its Bonham that says 'Thats got to be the one hasn't it"

Another classic from Physical Graffiti. So glad they left that in.

And BTW, this is what I want played at my funeral.

The ringing phone and Ronson swearing story at the end of Life On Mars is weird because I'm certain I can remember a cut in which somebody clearly says "Right! that's enough".

On one of the great covers of a Chuck Berry song, Johnnie Allan's early 70s cajun version of Promised Land, in verse 8 he sings "terminal gate" like verse 7,  but it should be "terminal zone" to rhyme with "telephone". AFAIK he always kept it like that. I think Dave Edmunds copied him.

Syd Barrett’s first post-Floyd album “The Madcap Laughs” has mistakes left in almost all the way through, but that’s part of it’s charm for me.

The tunes where he has The Soft Machine backing him and they’re barely keeping up with the twists and turns of his songs is cliff-edge stuff. Plus, the false starts and all the studio chatter. The first time I heard it I couldn’t believe it was all left in. Still a favourite album though.

I always thought that was intentional.

I seem to remember an interview with Macca where he said he'd done multiple vocal takes and when he got one he was happy with it he noticed he'd got the names mixed up at the end, but he thought fcuk it that'll get then thinking 😀

Paul McCartney - 'Let me Roll it'. Couple of bloopers. At roughly 3.24 Macca completely misses a note and at 4.22,the 'double push' is a blatant mis-edit,according to Geoff Emerick. But Macca kept it in his live shows anyway.

the first mistake does sound really odd, the second one sounds good, which is probably what they thought
