Don't look any further, put some La Bella White Nylon's. The 750T-CB being light tension and the 760T-CB being normal heavier tension.

You can buy them at BassDirect at the best price around.

I put them on my Leduc MP628SF and my U-Basse 4, both with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. I also put them on my original Ibanez AFR A104F (ebony fingerboard). Terrific strings. You'll get the growl and mwah needed and they won't absolutely tear your fingerboard. These are also the only Nylon's with round wounds core strings hence this typical fretless sound you get with them.

Forget the flat wounds on fretless except the Thomastik Jazz Flats.

Do you ever have earthing issues with coated strings?

I had on the Ibanez piezos as they are earthed by the strings, but some adhesive copper (with conductive glue) solved the issue. On the Noguera basses it's the same as the earth is made via the saddles or a fret near the balls, do it's not earthed by them. It's an easy fix.

I use nickel coated roundwound strings on mine. I think the old adage about roundwounds carving up your fretboard is very overstated, and even on something like a black walnut fretboard it would take many years to have any noticeable effect.

The nickel coated plated ones are quite smooth and are good and practical balance between really expensive flatwounds and steel roundwounds. The ones I use are D'addario EXL170-6. I paid £23 for mine on Amazon.
