Long strap

ACG sell UK hand made 3" wide padded leather straps with a suede underside. I have one and they are excellent, not the cheapest, but the suede underside prevents any slippage and the 3" wide padded main body of the strap make it extremely comfortable for long play.

Try Richter, all kinds of materials, even Vegan, and delirious lengths too : it's German. I have the widest which is 4.33 inches and on some models length can go up to 65". You can buy directly from them.

Check it here https://www.richterstraps.com/screen/page/bass-strap

Check the B-Stock too https://www.richterstraps.com/screen/page/bstock

They have some nice looking options. It's a shame those crazy Germans have used their own language instead of the Queens English. I'm sure Google translate will give me a suitably ropey translation.

I'm looking for a longer strap, something around 56" to 58" and because I play a Thunderbird it needs to be suede or something grippy to help with the neck dive that other thunderbird players say doesn't exist.

Levys do an extra long strap. Search EBay for extra long straps and loads come up. Gibson moved the strap button which fixed this issue. I assume the strap button on your bass is on the side, rather than on the back of the bass?

Mine is a year old Epiphone so the strap button in on the back of the neck. It's still got a massive head stock with tuning machines which look pretty heavy so neck dive is still a thing but not as severe as older Gibsons.
