This thread is becoming the biggest source of information on the internet on old Trace Elliot product series.
Thank you so much for your effort @Deedee!

I’ve been meaning to scan them all in for months, so it’s given me a bit of a push to do it.

thank you for these, finally confirms that the Trace head I acquired recently is a mkIV GP11 AH250 (unless the earlier ones looked identical?)

I know it's not a bass amp but does anyone have a catalogue showing the acoustic cube?

Nice typo there on one brochure 1048 - four 20-inch speakers - now that would be a cab and a half...

Weight 680kg" 🙂

Awesome, a 4x20. If that was a real cabinet then I am sure the 'recommended systems' would include two 4x20 cabs being used for the lows and then two 8x10 cabs for the highs in a bi-amp system that would be an 'ideal full range system for a working professional'.

My first Trace rig was a 1518 15" cab with the hard wearing vinyl covering and red stripes on the front, coupled with an AH130 GP7SM head - Built like an absolute tank and sounded so good.

Had it in my halls of residence room practicing whilst a student in Cardiff in the late 90s - not sure my housemates and the rest of the flats were too happy about it 😂

I can still remember the smell it had when the head was running, aah the memories!

I just missed out on a deal for a Gibson era AH500-12 in pristine condition. Bummer.
Also, I noticed prices for uld Trace amps seem to be rising? At least in the EU they are. Don't know about the UK.

I haven't really noticed it in the UK. Trace Elliot amps and cabs are so prevalent on the used market (though less so now than 10-12 years ago IMO) that there is never really much demand that would result in higher used prices. The lower powered amps and combos from 80s can generally be snapped up for £150-250. The 90s combos and amps go for a bit more, not because they are better amps, but they are newer and generally in better condition. Peavey era stuff used to be very expensive used but you can now get one of the 12 band amps for £350 or so which is impressive considering they were more than £1,000 new.

The VA valve amps, Twin Valve etc generally go for a bit more, as they are less common.

I am tempted of looking for a Series 6 or AH350SMX myself, even one of the Peavey era amps. This thread has done terrible things to my desire to once again own a graphic preamp Trace!

The only Trace amp that would get a premium price on the used market would be the semi-mythical V8 but they are very rare.

Prices seem to vary massively but generally agree with the above consensus..

The V-Type and older valve ranges have always commanded bigger coin - especially the ultra rare and 'semi mythical' (I like that, Thodrik!) models like the V8. I can't ever see prices of these falling..

As for the classic 7 and twelve band models, I recently picked up a 400SMX, 2103H & 1153 delivered for £265 - probably £1800 when new and they haven't been current for over 20 years now so even more in today's money.. I feel I got this for a steal, frankly. Whether prices will rise or fall for these classic ranges, I'm not sure either way although it's certainly a buyers market at the min..

I'm going to try find and scan some of my old catalogues this afternoon. 😀

Hi all, so i have been playing with this old TE combo for the last few years. I know this is old but can't see anything on the serial number. It's battle scarred that's for sure, any info on this range?, ie, what year, possible values now?. Is it the 715 combo maybe?

It’s a Series 6 715 combo yes. Circa 1989-1990 I believe :)
