So then! I play in a VH tribute band and I wanted to build something along those lines. It's a bit of a combination of Eddie's Frankenstrat, Mikey's PJ BB's and P basses, and Wolfie's blue striped Jazz.Ā

More details as it progressesĀ šŸ˜€

Nice... Q? Pick Guard?

I'd ofĀ been inclined to ofĀ painted up with a pick guard in place... maybe even with the pickup covers fitted... so it all blended in with the stripes...

Black, Mirror...? Can't be Tort.... can it?

Can you still get black mirror scratchplates? That would be epic.Ā

I did a Wolfie about ten years ago.Ā  I loved the process and the ultimate reveal.

The body was a nasty plywood Jazz thing that someone was selling for about Ā£20, it had these nasty big rough chiselled out routs.Ā  I put an MM unit in the neck position and a J in the bridge.Ā  I forget the neck, Allparts second/third hand.Ā  I remember the E string ferrel for the machinehead had clearly been forced into the hole and was vaguely ovalish and didn't turn properly.Ā

It was all just wired together with one volume control on a chrome bell plate.Ā  Worked to a fashion, sounded OK when pushed through a dirtbox.Ā  Gigged once (see below) and then broken apart for parts.
