Wow... almost looks like some sort of heavy skin leather...

I do hope its gonna be rear routed and you are not gonna need to cover a third of that with a scratch plate.

Matching Headstock?

Yes, rear routed and no scratchplates on these beauties; matching headstock.

You’re right, it does look like some hefty leather.

There wasn‚Äôt enough to do the back as well so that will be ‚Äėplain old‚Äô redwood ūüėČ with matching backplate.

Expecting some pictures of the back from Alan.

A most pleasant change from the more usual darker woods seen.

Inlays or nice and plain?

For sale or trade a rather lovely ACG Border Reiver. Purchased from the gent that is EAD on here, original ad below.
The clarity the ACG FB bridge and ACG FB neck pickups offer is fantastic, really open sound. Ergonomics are great, very comfortable to play both standing or seated. Neck has an asymmetric carve so very easy to navigate. You are hard pushed to find a better made bass in this price bracket than an ACG IMHO so price is firm. Overall condition of the bass is excellent, it has mellowed to a more golden colour than the pics suggest.
Only moving on as trying to limit myself to 34" scale on 4 strings as I find switching between them easier.
Swamp ash body 3 piece maple neck ART American Sycamore finger board  SEQ Pre 42mm at nut 3.6kg (on Kitchen scales) Fusion Gig bag  Willing to meet for collection following appropriate guidelines of the time within a reasonable distance. The Fusion gig bag is excellent but for insurance on postage I believe it has to be a hard case. I have one I could use but it's huge and heavy so shipping could be expensive.

Due to the Covid-19 situation and severe back problems (66% officially disabled because of it) plus right shoulder injury (non-operable capsulitis from which, after more than 3 years, I will never fully recover), I'm selling all my basses over 4 kilos and also the ones I'm not really using. I've also considerably lowered the price for a quick sale.

The bass has been fully set up professionally. It has received a new battery and has been fitted with a brand new set of La Bella White Nylon Tape Wound 750T-B-XL strings (50 - 65 - 85 - 105 - 135T).

Certainly one of the best fiver fretless around. Top luthier build quality (Alan Cringean is in the top ten, for sure) and a sound to die for. The neck is a pleasure to play and the sound has tons of mwah. The original preamp was an ACG EQ-01 (there's a mistake on the website confirmed by Alan himself), then @Bass Wielder put a John East Uni-Pre and I removed it to put an ACG EQ-02 so I had the opportunity to put two (2) passive tones with oiled paper capacitors that are softening a bit the very fast attack, but maintaining the long decay. And you still can use the two filters to tailor your sound. The La Bella White Nylons are simply perfect for this bass (and any fretless, by the way) as they allow you to make very fast slides and also small accents with dramatic effect. There is absolutely no neck diving.

I'm only selling it due to my health problems as it's really too heavy for my broken back.

Look at the photos taken under different angles and light to see the excellent condition of this bass. Some very minor scratches and very small dings impossible to photograph.

It's with a heavy heart I'm selling my beautiful, custom ACG 6-String bass. Specific details of this instrument can be found on the ACG website (https://www.acguitars.co.uk/project/0270salceetype6/)
I've owned this bass since new, having seen Alan's amazing work whilst attending the Moffat bass bash and knew I had to have one of his instruments. Unfortunately it's not getting played as much as it deserves so I feel it needs to find a new home.
      Body:
Top Wood: Figured Maple with Faded Black Finish.
Body Wood: Swamp Ash with Dirty Finish.
      Body Finish: Satin Lacquer
      Neck:
      Neck Wood: 5 piece Wenge/Bubinga
Finger Board: Acrylic Impregnated Spalted Maple
      Scale: 34″
      Neck Finish: Satin Lacquer
      Hardware:
      Pickups: ACG FB Humbuckers
Hardware: ETS Tuning/Bridge unit ACG Custom Headpiece  Schaller Straplocks,
      Pre-amp: ACG/East P-Retro with 4-way rotary pickup selector.
£1500, I will consider a part ex (up to £500 value) for the right bass, I do however need at least £1000 cash out of the sale. New, this bass would cost £2795. It's in fantastic condition and comes with a heavily padded Fusion gig bag. Collection from Newcastle upon Tyne, I'd really rather not post but will meet buyers a reasonable distance from Newcastle to facilitate a sale.
This ad is a relist of the original, I have recently moved house and needed to update my location.
