I've started another build which is a tele/precision hybrid

I've seen lots of precision bodies with a modified telecaster pickguard but I haven't seen any the other way round so I thought I'd give it a go

I've used some recycled pine I had kicking about for the body, Its going to have a maple/maple neck, Tele style headstock and I'm going to finish it in a solid Butterscotch/Blonde White-ish colour not sure about hardware colour yet as both I think suit the colour really well 👍🏻

Subtle n simple... Nice

Initial familiarity of the pickup and pickguard to the eye... Then the 'Tele' difference to the body. Bit like when reverse headstocks started making an apperance. You going reversed Tele-stock?

I'm considering a reverse headstock just trying to find a cheap enough lefty neck

Not yellow this time?

Well its kinda yellow-ish if it doesn't go butterscotch then it will be white

Fate telling ya to keep it wood... Danish?

If I was making the body out of a nice bit of Ash etc then that would be an option but its made out of a old scaffold board so I've had to do a lot of filling so its going to have to be a solid colour and I've got some satin White at work 👍🏻

  • 1 month later...

I found an old neck that I've used on this build and decided to go for a matching headstock

Just got to wait for the headstock to dry then I can refit the tuners, now just waiting for the wiring harness and strap buttons to turn up!..... 👍🏻
