Received my paperback copy yesterday and thoroughly enjoying it. I'll be 58 in a couple of weeks so Phil's teenage musical memories resonate with mine wonderfully. The chapters are the perfect length too, allowing for 10 to 20 minute reads as and when you fancy a chuckle or two. Thanks Phil.

A big thank you for both the orders, and the lovely feedback guys. I still have a few paperback copies in my possession if anyone needs that special Christmas gift for themselves, from themselves. Drop me a PM if you’re interested, and thanks again, everyone 😎

I'm about halfway through - really enjoying it & laughing out loud!

Stop it..! I'm almost exactly halfway through The Complete Fiction Of H P Lovecraft, and, true to my policy of not reading several books at once, need to finish this before embarking on Alfie's journey. I don't think I could cope with alternating chapters of these two. No spoilers, then, please ("I especially liked the bit where his amp suddenly..." No, no; just shut up..! 9_9).

Thanks Pete - I’m tempted to do something similar about my (less than) illustrious career, the jobs I’ve had along the way, and all the work funnies I’ve enjoyed and been involved in, and there’s been loads of them!!

I need to live for another forty years or so, and keep playing in bands, to do a proper sequel and at 58, that’s unlikely!

Just finished the book.  Bloody marvelous read and highly recommended.  I'm approx. the same vintage, maybe a year or two older so all the references worked brilliantly for me.

Where do I do the review please?

On Amazon, if you’d be so kind. Glad you enjoyed it!

What is also mildly weird is that we have ended up with a broadly similar set of basses (except Stingray and Gibson that just don't float any of my boats) :)

My late wife certainly shared the view that there was only a finite amount of gear in the BC marketplace, which we all just swapped around periodically (usually with @karlferin my case) 😊

So true.  I'd wager that Karl has owned 82.7% of all basses ever made.  Apologies, I can't be any more accurate than that.
