Barefaced Machinist

Given they already have experience of powered FRFR cabs, I'm surprised they didn't go for the more obvious development of the BF SC or SM combo?

Alex could have had, at a stroke, a market leading lightweight product on his hands.

Comparing this thread to the thread on talkbass with the same title is why I hardly come on here.

Why is that, Alex?  I admit that there are some on the forum that take criticisms of your company uncomfortably far at times, but there is nothing but constructive intelligent discussion in this thread at the moment? Although I fear that may change after your post :(

ive just re-read this thread and nearly every post has some sort of positive coment and or what i would consider constructive feedback.

for a manufacturer of a new pedal to come on a forum thread and alienate everybody that commented is really bad form Alex.

You mean, listen to the voice of the people who could be interested in buying your product.

As above, wow.

Thing is, you may have done a smart move here, get a reputable custom fx company to design your pedal, get it into a position where it can be manufactured in bulk, put your branding on it... and just shift boxes. Thats the beginnings of a good business model. Coming onto a platform an alienating your customers, not so much.

Even I congratulated the product being bought to market.

The rest, constructive criticism. I am big into accessibility for all - and not having labels is a big negative on that front. And the LED comment, just personal preference - but it just looks unfinished and rough... to me. But also appreciate that adding collars takes down your profit margin.

It's probably going to be an extremely good product, you would expect so with it being an expensive pedal made by Cog. However when a company that makes active/passive bass cabs releases teaser photos showing an old school knob on a brushed metal chassis most people are going to assume it's some sort of bass amp, not a drive pedal made by an entirely different company.

The downside of having a dedicated and sometimes feverish fanbase is that they don't like being let down.

OK, I'm sorry everyone. Running a business that specialises in making gear for live music is really hard when pretty much all live music is currently on hold. It's harder still when you have two small children and a very challenging baby. Can you just ignore my last comment, I'm just trying to stay the right side of a nervous breakdown whilst trying to not have to make all my staff redundant.

Wasn't about returning pickups was it? 🙂

No, it was a flipping big cut in my finger - which stopped me playing for a while - from a very sharp and protruding corner piece on my Super Twin which was clearly rushed out of the factory without undergoing decent QC. Alex really didn't appear to give a flip to be honest. I put it down to a rare example of poor QC and he tried to excuse it on some other personal grounds, but all the same, I get the sense that he doesn't warrant my support any more after the above. We all made some very positive comments, and even if we didn't as Oscar said "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about"

Anyone want to buy a Super Twin cheap

EDIT I've posted information on the above here

None if us have to deal with stinky poo at present do we.

And you really think saying what you said will help? Everyone is in the same boat at present Alex, most of us have kids and sleepless nights about where the next salary check is coming from, but I don't see other manufacturers coming on here slagging off what was actually a set of largely constructive comments?
