Lockdown has meant that I've brought loads of my gear home/out of storage. It's been great! But, I've have started to realise how much has amassed over the years.

So, going to start putting some bits and bobs up for sale.

Next up is this awesome Anaconda j4 elite. I had no intention of buying anything at the London bass guitar show a few years ago. Andrew who builds the Anaconda basses here in the UK gracefully let me try this one as I was thinking about a custom build. I brought it on the spot! It really is astonishing. A new one at the moment is north of £2.5k

Specs are:

Roasted Birdseye maple neck

Ebony fingerboard

Liminlay side dots

Wenge facing

Brazilian mahogany back

Bartolini

Tonestyler passive eq

Series/parallel/single coil switch for each pickup

Locking neutrik socket

Gold hipshot USA hardware

As with all my gear it has been gigged, but loved. There will be marks from usage etc. This is in very good condition. Priced low for a quick sale, before I change my mind.

It's such a pretty bass. The wood choices are amazing. Andrew at Anaconda said this is a one off as the wood on the back is really old and there was only this piece. He'd evidently been saving it for a special build.

Stunning, what a beautiful bass! Can see how easy that would have been to Impulse buy!

Yeah, it was an expensive weekend. Getting in to the show before it opens is great, but can be expensive.

Yep, 'Impulse Buys R Us'!  If this were a short-scale, I'd probably be doing it right now 🙂

You should try this if you want a shorty, it smokes ;)

How short do you want to go Mike?

I have an, ultra-rare, JV P bass with 32” scale in a faded yellowy tint Olympic White.

Sounds just like a classic JV era P and strung with the correct length Thomastik Infeld flats.

Only mentioning this here as a sale might give me some funds towards this lovely Anaconda 😉

It's bang on 40mm, so between a jazz and p bass. It's a fast/easy neck to play.

Oh my, that is my favourite neck width..

You say v. Good condition with a few marks, any details on those?   Are the controls Vol Vol Tone, what do the toggle switches do?

@PatrickJ yes it's volume,volume and a tonestyler tone pot.

The tonestyler is a notched pot with diff capacitor values for each notch. It's a great way of getting a variety of tones without the issues you get with active circuits. Also, the two switches (one for each pickup) have three positions (series/parallel/single coil).

As it's an oil finish.

There are no marks on the front, neck or headstock. A couple of small marks on the back of the body and leg bout. These are in the Brazilian mahogany, so can prob be steamed out like on a Warwick. The first pic is near the jack socket where it sits on your leg. IMG_20201226_214436.thumb.jpg.c9c048d28d7eb3b721e5a1fa5081b05d.jpg
