Um.  I'm a bit suspicious of this:  "I have seen the same pickup branded di marzio".

How would he know it was the same? 

And "branded" suggests he's not entirely sure either.

I don't know what effect that would have, not being up on my woods (oo-err missus!).  IIRC walnut is less dense that mahogany which would make it dive more.  Is that right?

I had a few Status basses over the years, all but one with mahogany bodies, and one solid walnut. It always seemed heavier than the others...
