I think he was singing for Squeeze round about this time. I think he appeared on 'Tempted'.

He did, but it was earlier than that in 1981. He left Squeeze in 1982 and by the late 80’s was involved with Mike and the Mechanics. Think he rejoined Squeeze briefly in the early 90’s too. 😊

Look up The Princes Trust Concert, 1988, same band and lots of lovely Karnal Knowledge. Oh and check out John Deacon playing Mick’s bass with Joe Cocker!

I remember seeing Paul Carrack with Ace in 1974 or75 when 'How Long' was released.

Great band. Once heard that the song was not about an unfaithful relationship but apparently written about the bassist  moonlighting with another band who were trying to get him to leave Ace. Don’t know how true this is mind.

Although widely interpreted as being about adultery, the song was in fact composed by lead singer Paul Carrack upon discovering that bassist Terry Comer had been secretly working with the Sutherland Brothers and Quiver.[4] The ‘friends with their fancy persuasions’ cites in the lyrics, are said to be in reference to The Sutherland Brothers and Quiver’s management.[5]

From Wikipedia 😉

Actually saw Tex playing with SB&Q at the Rainbow, double-headlining with Brinsley Schwarz. Great gig!
Does that count as infidelity?😁
