Thriller Sound - Markbass Super Synth

Hey Everyone!

I recently got a used MB Super synth pedal and have to get as close as possible to the bass sound of "Thriller" in a couple of days! (It's a challenge, right?)

Unfortunately, my mac cannot run the editor since that editor works only with 32bit OS, and I had no idea.

So I was curious if anyone tried this before with MB super synth - using only presets available on the pedal. I tweaked the knobs and tried different presets, but no chance. Most probably I am missing something.

I use a Rickenbacker 4003 with a stereo jack so I can split the pickups, one of them dry and the other one wet (apart from the wet/dry knob on the pedal). Just saying in case it can be an important detail. DunnoI am not actually an effects person, but wanted to experiment and got excited. I don't own any other pedal that can be relevant, only a SansAmp Bass DI.

Thank you for your help!

Not done with the Markbass, but check out around 5:38 in this video. It’s a similar Moog-ish Bass tone. Afraid I’ve no idea re the programming of the Super Synth, but you want to be looking for an octave down, light gain, a downward filter and (maybe) chorus. Interested to hear how it turns out!

Man is that guy annoying, and I am not exactly a big fan of pop either, hell I am not even interested in playing bass synth on my bass, yet for some reason I found the video interesting enough to watch the whole way though.

I took the advice on this video and adapted a fuzz patch on my multi effects pedal by introducing autowah, chorus and octave, it does a much more sympathetic synth sound than most synth presets. Definitely worth exploring second hand multi effects that are easy to edit rather than buy a one trick pony pedal.
