I have bought a Burns John Rostill bass (repro), that is a bit worse for ware. It has two broken tuners (one left and one right). Any suggestions of where I can get spares or replacements? Note: I haven't actually got the bass yet but it will be frustrating to have it and not be able to tune it up ...can you help

It's unfortunate that they are unique to the bass (as fabulous as they are), as the market only seems to carry the more "traditional" clover or Y shaped tuners, with bigger base plates.

A "work around" could be to use something like the Licensed Hipshot Ultralite, as the overall footprint is smaller than that of the original tuners.

Or take it to a trusted repairer and see if they can fix the originals for you.

Good luck, hope you can get the original tuners fixed.

Thanks, I'm not too worried as there are other options. I also noticed that some had an all metal tuner.

I have managed to find one so only need one other really and I can can still tune the bass so I can wait and see if more turn up,

Here's the current news site, which looks promising. http://www.burnsguitars.com/

I would be crazy enough to make my own tuning pegs with epoxy paste. 😅

Thanks, A buddy gave me some "stuff", like round granules to try. Thinks it should do it, although I prefer to source a Burns replacement if I can
