Valve Amp - who’s still using them?

I had one and only sold it because of the weight.

It has a fantastic hi-end preamp and a massive powerful sound.

It was my favourite valve amp ever until I got a Stoneham YI-200.

Half the power and half the weight. 😀

Is it called YI200 because they’re from Newcastle 🤔

I think my wallet just ran and hid from me...

It probably doesn’t help being in Surrey too 🙂

Someone got a bargain, it sold for £409 🙂

Although not quite as cheap I saw an Ashdown ctm100 with roqsolid cover go for £500 out of rich tone music...some bargains in that place

Did you courier? Or drop it off?

I’m in Ireland so I couriered it over . Not too expensive, I just think one cheap component needed replacing a phase inverter 🤷‍♂️. Certainly sounds louder than before. Beefier . Can’t wait to gig with it 😢

Mine neither - I didn't use it often when gigging and that was a long time ago. Should sell it really, but dont' really want to.

I was toying with the idea of selling mine but decided to get it serviced instead. I sent it to Ashdown where Guy there fixed a few bits and bobs, now I think I'll hang onto it as It sounds great. Like yourself I didn't really gig with it as much and used solid state amps, but when this is all over I intend to make it earn its keep.

I’m determined to get a band back together once it’s safer out there.

My CTM-300 is desperate to be turned up loud.
