Thanks for crediting Ray Jackson

I've loved the mandolin since seeing the lads back in the early 70s. Jacka and Rod (Clements, not Stewart 😉) are a couple of my musical heroes.

Aye, two great musicians. I could mention one of Jacka's epic  harmonica solos from their Xmas shows. Any of them.

Hubert Sumlin's guitar solo on Spoonful. Only 6 bars but a perfect solo.

Hubert Sumlin again on Smokestack Lightening. No solo to speak of but 3 minutes of riffing that launched a million bands.

I noticed he was using a guitar on both occasions, maybe if he had read the title of this thread he might have used a Ukelele

Too many to mention, I love solos!

Just before landing on Basschat tonight I was listening to 'Magnetic' by Steps Ahead.

Michael Brecker's Tenor solo on 'Trains' is fantastic. A great lesson in solo building. He even overdubbed harmonies on the solo.

Victor Bailey on Bass put in a great shift as well. Actually, the whole band did. :D

Tenor solo starts at 02:18
