Fretless conversion

I’ve bought this bass for 60£ longtime ago. Stagg JB. To be honest, not so good. So I’ve decided to convert it to fretless one. It was my first project (still not finished yet😂). Basically I was learning on it with no tools. Anyway...some pics.

p. s. I’m not sure about pickguard. Shape, colour. Maybe someone can suggest something different?

Nice job on the fretboard! :)

I like the shape of the scratchplate and I think the grain looks good on it.

The colour change of the body from the outside shots to the later shots - is that just camera/light foibles or have you used a coloured stain/finish?  It looks so different (from reddish brown to yellow-ish) it threw me a bit...
