Mostly a guitarist sneaking in by virtue of sometimes being confused with someone who can actually play bass. In fact, sometimes confused with someone who can actually play guitar, but that's a whole other story for a different forum Bass gear is minimal at present: a much abused and badly setup Peavey Milestone III bought off a friend who never used it, purely because of the whole "Hey can you play bass this week?" scenario that kept cropping up. And a pre-amp pedal for recording direct to DAW. That's it. Half-heartedly looking for something a bit better (P-type, or a Yamaha/Ibanez low budget thing with jazz & split-coil pickups) but not massively seriously. One day.
