Seen this before but what are the 4 holes between bridge and pick up ?

Never understood what they could be.

Have to admit i would be disappointed if one of my basses faded like some of these Fenders.

I have "whiteout" issues. Apologies to those who find white and tort a problem. Frankly, I don't give a rats chuff!

Liking that maple neck P bass. Almost had one of those last year but deal fell thru.

You might also try Jack's Instrument Services as well.  He has made them in the past for me at a little less than that for proper celluloid items.  Still not cheap though.

Thanks.

It plays very nicely sitting down, but is a boat anchor at nearly 5kg (11lbs) in weight.

I guess being early 80's it has a heavy ash body and still has the original hi-mass bridge and coated brass thumb rest all adding  weight. Iconic bass though.

Tell me more about the jazz with blocks and matching headstock (and where I can get one) 🤪

MIJ 66 RI. I think they were available new around 2010 to 2014. I got mine as a trade in; serial number indicates a 2013 build from Dyna Gakki plant. Model reference number is : Fender JB66B VWH Jazz Bass

Typical Japanese build quality. Although not exactly period correct for a 66 Jazz, it is sympathetic reissue. I added Gotoh lollipop tuners and had spare ashtray pickup and bridge covers.

Hope this helps.

My white Jazz Bass, and my dot and bound P-Bass.

I've also posted a short video of Guy Pratt playing my white Jazz Bass through an octaver during a soundcheck (he borrowed the instrument for a few weeks for a series of gigs).

Here's my white Fender pair, picture taken a few minutes ago in a corner of my rather cramped music and anything I want to do room:

How did you manage to get Guy to borrow your bass for a few weeks. I'd never touch that bass again and have it wall mounted in a covered display case.
