A derivative man in a derivative band.

A bit harsh mate , have you not heard their original material? The guy clearly loves Rush but is a monster player in his own right.

I dont know what's more talented - being able to play like a prayer, or coming up with it in the first place!

Great video. What a great player!

And then forgetting he played on it! The storey is covered in more detail in his book.

Here's a clip of humble attempt from a couple of months back, playing it with Mr. Nail and Christopher Fairbank (Y'know, him off Guardians of the Galaxy).

I got away with it, but having Guy's video to refer to beforehand would have saved me a lot of heartache. ha ha.

And for good measure, Guy aged 22 with Aussie synthers Icehouse playing a cricket bat.

Anyone else see Icehouse at Milton Keynes Bowl supporting Bowie in the 80's ?

I must have seen Guy without knowing it

Yes to Bowie at the MK Bowl – my first time there – got there at midday and waited for what seemed like an eternity for DB to come on!

Great interview 👍

Here’s a pic of his 64 P Bass when I played it in 2009 - sadly paint would flake off if you just looked at it, but it was stunning to play and hear, so is now in the right hands for sure.

What's this plaque about?

I remember when Ain't No Doubt came out, it was all over the radio. I picked up on the bass line many years before I even knew what a bass guitar was.

Glad I can now give it a good crack. Always been a guilty pleasure that song

EDIT: much kudos to GP, he's absolutely phenomenal

Anyone else thinking Fender should do a Guy Pratt signature Jazz in roadworn burgundy mist?

No, because I can’t afford it, and don’t like fake road worn basses 😂

Isn’t there a thread a about a Guy Pratt bass on here?

This one

Just watched this interview Guy did for Thomann’s a while ago. Very funny in places. He also mentions a new book.

I love the question the interviewer asked him about Bowie at 3.18. Very bizarre.
