Biggest Bass Drop... EVER!!! #Edit:It's come to my attention that the term “Bass Drop" is not universal so may I add that this thread is asking for members to share their favourite Outstanding Bass moments in songs & has nothing to do with dropping fish*

As the “heart & soul" of “ALL THAT IS", us Bassists know how important the rhythm is...  :i-m_so_happy:

To the ignorant & self-absorbed, the bass is a “WTF" instrument.

However, to the informed and educated, the Bass IS the ROOT of music...  ^_^

So what I wanna know is......

What's the BIGGEST BASS DROP, EVER?!!

Something crazy, like this?...

...but obviously not Muse ‘cos they are despicable...

Maybe this?...

?!?!?!?...

ACTUALLY, IT'S THIS!!...

Obvs... 9_9

Anyways...

What you guys got?!!

You know “it's gotta be big..."

Was gonna take the p*** with this but that IS a friendly, funky bass line!!!...

GO ON... GIVE US YER' BEST BASS SHOT!!!....

* Disclaimer, mention of fish being dropped may appear in this thread.

Can he do that live at full speed though? I've heard about those studio tricks. 😗

edit: That drummer must have six arms...😬

That was Phil Collins, no less.  He was a superb drummist, till he retired with his bad back

Love that Tori Amos tune. 😍 But have this!

I was there in the mosh on my own as everyone I knew forgot to apply for tickets. Funnily enough never seen any footage before.  Looked as epic as it felt 😝

Can't decide whether to look up 'bass drop' to find out what the expression is intended to signify or ask here.

Maybe I'm better off not knowing.

As far as I was aware it's a term normally reserved for electronic/dance music, particularly dubstep. Commonly the bass, and possibly drums, is held back for a verse or a section and then comes back in with a blast.

But if we're just going for tracks were the bass injects energy into the track then I'll put the live version of Sabotage in. The song does stop and come back in with bass so it's kind of there. 🙂

I was actually implying something more like this...

...but @Maude description is certainly more appropriate to the thread...
