Couldn't get used to having a beard but it was just a wee trial to see how it looked and felt. I feel lighter today :laugh1:

Beard did cover the double chin right enough:laugh1:

Yeah 😂

To be honest - the ground is full of bricks, off cuts from the build (houses are only about 10 years old) so a lot of the soil will be going back in - once I’ve sifted the crapola out.

the slabs are 2 inch thick too - so I’m down about 4 inches there.

Watched the house next door getting built 3 yrs ago and it has a stepped front garden with artificial grass on top. If it finally sells and the owners decide to dig down more than a foot they'll find everything but the kitchen sink in that border. Old paint tins general rubble, old breeze block, plastic bags and bits of wood off-cuts.

Just wondering which end of a cul de sac would be the last - the closed end or the open one. Not that we live in a cul de sac, of course. But still wondering….lot of crap in our garden...

Closed end, we live on an estate where the ends of the roads finish at a very nice park (been a godsend these last few weeks) and from speaking to other people with the end house they found the same. We had what was obviously the remains of a fire pit in a corner. The cable was the worst as it was a devil to get out.

I was lucky when i got my current house built. I was visiting almost daily during the build and when i saw the fire pit in the middle of the back garden area i spoke to the builder and told him i didn't want the site rubbish buried in my garden. He was ok about it and remove it and there was no repeat. He probably buried in next dor neighbours garden as the houses were being built at same time. :laugh1:

Seems to be standard practice for house builders. Saves them paying to take it to the local tip or hiring a skip for any rubbish.

We live at the closed end, but the road is T shaped, so there are two closed ends, and two houses at the end of each. Not found anything too bad, just general builders' rubbish. I've only lived here since 2012, but my wife's owned the place for 35 years.

Despite the lockdown, I've been proselytized. I was given a card by a Jehovah's Witness yesterday while working at his house (at the required social distance, of course). All it had on it was 'JW.ORG' and a QR code. How very modern. The gentleman told me if I scanned the code there was information about the reasons these things are happening in the world at the moment. I'll give the JWs their due - they're very thorough. I've been doorstepped by them at pretty much every address I've lived at over the years, and there's been quite a few. I think I'll pass on the scanning thing though. They might steal my soul digitally. Assuming I still have one, of course.

According to the JWs, there's only 145,000 places in their version of heaven, isn't there?  Why anyone would want to subscribe to a religion where you spend your life repenting your sins with little or no chance of getting into Stovokor seems a bit rough.

The brakes on the Volvo have needed attention for a little while - in recent times I’ve not driven much and only short journeys in and around town with 3 or 4 motorway runs so haven’t given it much more thought.

Anyhow. Today passenger side disc announced in style that it’d had enough. Limped it home.

stupid really - I should’ve had it sorted.

luckily...local man collects tomorrow.

Im thinking a £400 bill will teach me a lesson...probably more. What a numpty.

What happened to it Andy ?

Had my Porsche in for tracking issue and got a call that my front brake discs were in a bad way. He left car on ramp for me to have a look. I knew they were on their way out and i could feel pulsing when braking.

Got to garage (local one i use a lot) and the inside discs were de-laminating. It looked like potholes on the discs. He reckons they've pitted with lack of use and being studded type discs the rust has gotten below the metal and popped bit bits off. It doesn't get used much at moment and its due for a service next month with Porsche specialist and i knew the brakes would need sorted.

Waiting on price from local garage to replace but will also get a price from Porsche specialist as car has a full Porsche / Porsche specialist history with every receipt since 2001.I'm expecting a hefty price tag for Porsche parts.

I've reached the point where I'm happy to pay for someone to do the jobs I don't want to do, but changing brakes pads/calipers/disks or even fitting brake pipes are all pretty straightforward.

There’s a bit of the disc not where it should be...I really really am kicking myself.
